Leading Pharmaceutical Group Joins Fish & Richardson

Patent attorneys come to firm from Darby & Darby

New York, NY - March 15 2010 - Continuing the growth of its New York office and increasing its capacity to meet demand in the life sciences, pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, Fish & Richardson P.C. announced today that S. Peter Ludwig and Robert C. Sullivan, Jr., have joined the firm in the New York office. They were previously principals at Darby & Darby and worked on intellectual property transactional work and litigation.

Ludwig and Sullivan are bringing a team with them to Fish, including attorneys Irina E. Vainberg, Ph.D., Mitchell Bernstein, Ph.D., and Samuel S. Woodley, Ph.D., and registered patent agent Anna M. Tan, Ph.D.

"Fish is a natural fit for this impressive group, with their considerable experience in the most complex and challenging pharmaceutical and biotech patent work," said Peter Devlin, President of Fish & Richardson. "Our Hatch Waxman litigation practice has skyrocketed in the past three years, and we are thrilled to be able to add bench strength to that practice." Devlin added.

Peter Ludwig has a broad range of experience in complex domestic and foreign patent prosecution, litigation, interference and counseling issues, particularly in representing pharmaceutical and biotech companies, as well as academic institutions. He began his career as a patent attorney for E.I. DuPont de Nemours, and has been involved in both transactional work and litigation involving patents.

Robert Sullivan has more than 20 years of experience in patent litigation, patent prosecution, counseling, and licensing, primarily in the fields of biotechnology, chemistry and pharmaceuticals.
