On August 15, the Judicial Conference Advisory Committee published proposed amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. In particular, rules 1, 4, 6, 16, 26, 30, 31, 33, 34, 26, 37, 55, and 84 comprise the potentially affected. Notably, some of the proposed changes involve discovery of ESI (electronically stored information).

In connection with publishing the proposed amendments, the committee invited the bench, bar and public for comment. The public comment period closes on February 15, 2014.
