Background

Dr. Goodson is a Principal in the Wilmington, Delaware* office of Fish & Richardson. She represents a range of clients, including chemical and pharmaceutical companies. Her practice focuses on client counseling and strategic portfolio development, patent opinions, due diligence, freedom-to-operate opinions, and patent prosecution. She has extensive expertise in the areas of small molecule pharmaceuticals, drug formulations, drug delivery, new methods of treatment, polymers, catalysts, and gas adsorbents. In the small molecule pharmaceutical area, she has managed global patent portfolios directed to clinical candidates and approved new chemical entities, including facilitating patent term extension and accelerated prosecution.

Dr. Goodson previously worked a Senior Project Supervisor at National Starch and Chemical Co., a Senior Research Chemist at Solutia, Inc., and an Assistant Professor at La Salle University.
