Fish’s team is well-versed in all aspects of compliance, ranging from industry standards to U.S federal, state and international laws.  Our attorneys advise on the various privacy and data security issues that arise in business operations, vendor agreements, and other transactions.  We help clients develop and implement audits, risk assessments, internal policies, and employee training sessions.  We also understand the pressures that arise when a data breach or loss does happen.  Our attorneys provide swift guidance to ensure clients comply with all U.S. state breach notification laws, work with the FTC and other regulators as necessary, and assess the overall effect of the breach on the company.  Our litigation team stands ready if a breach leads to civil or criminal claims.

Fish’s leading data privacy and security professionals have been certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as Certified Information Privacy Professionals/United States (CIPP/US) in recognition of their expertise in this area. CIPP members demonstrate deep knowledge in the area of privacy and information security and are required to participate in Continuing Privacy Education events, ensuring that they are up-to-date on evolving privacy laws and best practices.
