Spectrum Leasing and Broadband Technologies
We represent numerous educational institutions licensed by the Federal Communications Commission to use Educational Broadband Service ("EBS" formerly the "Instructional Television Fixed Service") frequencies in the 2.5 GHz band to provide video, data, and broadband services throughout the United States. Our attorneys are expert in regulatory and transactional matters associated with this band having participated in every major EBS rulemaking proceeding over the last 28 years. We negotiate spectrum lease agreements on behalf of public and private schools, universities, and catholic institutions, advising our clients on all aspects of the process. We have experience negotiating with virtually all commercial operators.
Our attorneys have the technical knowledge and practical experience to ensure that our clients receive every advantage in spectrum lease negotiations. We also assist clients with FCC licensing matters, regulatory compliance, license transfers and assignments, band plan transitions, lease administration, and related matters.
