Laura Braden

Washington, D.C., June 2, 2010 – Laura R. Braden, an associate at Fish & Richardson, has received the first annual Microsoft LCA Law Firm Associate Award, which was among five awards presented to legal professionals who have made key contributions to the company.  The award was recently presented to Ms. Braden at Microsoft’s annual worldwide Law & Corporate Affairs (LCA) Department Summit in Bellevue, Washington.

“This is a tremendous honor for Laura and we are very proud that she was selected for this recognition from our client Microsoft,” said Peter Devlin, President of Fish & Richardson.  “Laura is a talented young attorney and has been a valued member of our Microsoft litigation team.”

In giving the award, Microsoft specifically recognized Ms. Braden’s role in a patent infringement suit brought by Uniloc, in which Ms. Braden helped achieve reversal of a $388 million jury verdict against Microsoft in 2009.  Ms. Braden has also represented Microsoft in various other cases.

At Fish, Ms. Braden focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation in the areas of software and mechanical engineering.  She practices in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

Ms. Braden received her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 2002.  She received her M.A. from New York University in 1998 and her A.B. from Princeton University in 1995.
