Fish's Juanita Brooks voted one of the "Best of the Bar" by San Diego Business Journal

Attorneys in San Diego have voted Juanita Brooks one of the "Best of the Bar" as published in the San Diego Business Journal. Juanita was one of the 200 attorneys featured whose peers deem them to be at the top of the legal profession. Juanita, who was recognized for her complex intellectual property litigation expertise, shared this anecdote about her career:

"I have a paper weight on my desk that was given to me by a client with the inscription "It Can Be Done." It is my favorite quote and words I try to live by. Too often people, and especially women, become convinced that they cannot accomplish something and therefore they don't even try. If you don't try, then you are guaranteed to fail. But if you tell yourself "It Can Be Done" and that you can accomplish anything and everything you set out to do by making your best efforts, you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish"

Additionally, Juanita was one of three women profiled in a feature article in the Best of the Bar edition of the San Diego Business Journal. Juanita was selected to be profiled due, in part, to her passion for the law and appreciation of family. The profile leads with this apt description: "In her nearly 40-year legal career, patent litigation lawyer Juanita Brooks has been instrumental in redefining rules, represented cases that gained national attention and won numerous awards." It goes on to tell the story of Juanita's interesting life from her days growing up in Sunnyvale, California to attending Harvard Law at the age of 21 to her being one of the first women to start her own law firm in San Diego, as well as detailing her 14-years with Fish.

We are proud of Juanita and the contributions she has made to our southern California office and the San Diego - and beyond - legal community.
