Jay Smith III Joins Fish

Prior to joining Fish, Smith was an associate at Alston & Bird LLP in Atlanta.

Fish & Richardson recently announced on June 18, 2007, that Jay P. Smith III joined the firm’s Atlanta office as an Associate in its Litigation Group. Fish & Richardson has been steadily expanding its litigation and patent prosecution practices in its Atlanta office, which has grown to 21 attorneys and technology specialists.

Mr. Smith focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, including patent and trade secret litigation. Prior to joining Fish & Richardson, he was an associate at Alston & Bird LLP in Atlanta.

“Jay is a great addition to our patent litigation team,” said Nagendra (“Nick”) Setty, Managing Principal of Fish & Richardson’s Atlanta office. “We are pleased to add his depth of experience to the resources we offer our clients.”

Mr. Smith received his J.D. in 2001 from Harvard Law School, where he was Articles Editor of the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology. He received his B.A., summa cum laude, in chemistry, classics, and molecular biology from Vanderbilt University in 1998. He is admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals; the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 9th and 11th Circuits; and the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Northern Districts of Georgia.
