Two February 2007 IP Law360 surveys recently announced Fish & Richardson at the top of the ranks in patent litigation and trademark cases.

“Ranked #1 In Patent Litigation”
The firm once again topped the annual list of patent litigation practices in the United States with 89 new cases in 2006. Rivals Jones Day and Greenberg Traurig were unchanged at second and third place, respectively, according the survey of federal court dockets.

Head of the firm’s National Litigation Practice, Katherine Lutton, remarked, “We are the largest intellectual property law firm in the world with a track record for winning high profile, high stakes, bet-the-company cases. Our trial lawyers are the best of the best in this field.”

“Top Trademark Litigator”
Fish & Richardson moved into the Top 10 in IP Law 360‘s 2006 Top Trademark Litigators in the United States, coming in at #5. The firm took on 25 new trademark cases in 2006, leaving it tied with three other firms for fifth place. The move represents a significant jump from 30th place in 2005, when it took on 18 new cases.

“The firm found itself at the top because it’s one of the only truly national intellectual property law firms,” according to Tim French, director of the firm’s trademark, copyright, media and entertainment group.
