Boston, MA, May 19, 2015 – Fish & Richardson has received top “Band 1” national rankings for its Intellectual Property (IP) practice and its International Trade Commission (ITC) patent litigation practice in the 2015 edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.  Fish also received top rankings for its regional IP practices in California, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, and Texas.

Seventeen Fish attorneys – John Bickel, Juanita Brooks, Ruffin Cordell, Michael Florey, David Francescani, Christopher Green, David Healey, Robert Hillman, Thad Kodish, Katherine Kelly Lutton, William Marsden, Jr., Douglas McCann, Michael McKeon, Thomas Melsheimer, Frank Porcelli, Frank Scherkenbach, and Jonathan Singer – were also selected for inclusion in the directory as leaders in their practice areas.

An elite “Band 1” ranking means that Fish and its attorneys stood out – from in-depth interviews with thousands of lawyers and clients across the country – for their practice strength, expertise, and reputation in the market.

Fish’s global Intellectual Property practice provides strategic counseling, litigation, and prosecution for clients ranging from start-ups to multinational corporations to world-renowned academic and research institutions.  Fish has been named by Corporate Counsel as the #1 patent litigation firm in the U.S. for 11 consecutive years.  Fish was also named by Managing Intellectual Property as the #1 most active law firm at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) for 2014, and was recently ranked a “Tier 1” law firm in PTAB Litigation by the publication.  Fish’s ITC practice was ranked #1 by The National Law Journal as the firm with the most cases filed in 2014 at the International Trade Commission.

Chambers is considered to be the world’s most reputable directory because inclusion is based solely on its research teams’ findings.  Ranking criteria includes technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, and commitment.  Law firms and individual lawyers are ranked in bands from 1-6, with 1 being the best.
