The national law firm of Fish & Richardson, P.C. is proud to announce it has joined the Clean Technology and Sustainable Industries Organization (www.ct-si.org), a not-for-profit organization designed to help advance the commercialization and global adoption of clean technologies and sustainable industry practices.

CTSI announced earlier this year that it would relocate its global headquarters to Austin, Texas, which is quickly becoming an international center for sustainable technology innovation, manufacturing and expertise.

“Fish & Richardson is built around the commitment to recognize and reward innovative ideas,” says Kelly Kordzik, a Principal in the firm’s Austin office and chair of Fish & Richardson’s Nanotechnology Practice Group. “Austin is emerging as a hub for the renewable energy industry and we look forward to working with CTSI to help further this growth.”

In recognition of his leadership role in the field of nanotechnology, Mr. Kordzik has also been invited to join the Energy & Clean Technology Advisory Board for the Sept. 25 Rice Alliance Energy & Clean Technology Venture Forum in Houston. The Forum, one of the largest energy and clean technology venture forums in North America, is hosted by the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship and the Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University.

As a member of the Advisory Board, Mr. Kordzik will also serve as a judge of the Elevator Pitch competition, where companies will offer 90-second presentations on their businesses. Participants include entrepreneurs, researchers, investment professionals and business executives serving the energy industry.

“These presentations represent some of the most promising ideas being developed to answer the challenges facing the global energy market,” says Mr. Kordzik. “What is offered during this competition as simply an abstract idea for power generation or energy efficiency may very well become an established practice or methodology in the near future.”

Founded in 1878, Fish & Richardson is one of the largest law firms in the U.S. practicing exclusively in the areas of intellectual property, litigation and corporate law. The firm has more than 450 attorneys in ten offices in the United States and one office in Germany. Fish & Richardson has long represented great innovators and entrepreneurs, including pioneering inventors such as Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, and the Wright Brothers.

Fish & Richardson was named “Law firm of the Year for Life Sciences and Biotechnology” by Managing Intellectual Property magazine in April 2008. Fish & Richardson handles more patent litigation than any other law firm in the U.S. (IP Law & Business July 2007). It also rates among the top U.S. firms in patents and trademarks obtained. In August 2007, Fish was named the top intellectual property (IP) law firm in the U.S. in Corporate Counsel Magazine’s sixth annual survey of “Who Represents America’s Biggest Companies.”
