Fish Receives Top "Band 1" National Rankings for Intellectual Property and ITC Practices in Chambers USA 2016

Fish & Richardson has received top "Band 1" national rankings for its Intellectual Property (IP) practice and its International Trade Commission (ITC) patent litigation practice in the 2016 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business. According to Chambers, Fish has a "stellar litigation group" that is "admired for notable trial successes." In addition, the firm "continues to impress with its handling of ITC investigations for a number of the nation’s leading brands."

Fish also received top rankings for its regional IP practices in California, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, and Texas. Thirteen Fish attorneys - Juanita Brooks, Ruffin Cordell, Michael Florey, Christopher Green, DJ Healey, Thad Kodish, William Marsden, Jr., Douglas McCann, Michael McKeon, Frank Porcelli, Frank Scherkenbach, and Jonathan Singer - were also selected for inclusion in the directory as leaders in their practice areas.

An elite "Band 1" ranking means that Fish and its attorneys stood out - from in-depth interviews with thousands of lawyers and clients across the country - for their practice strength, expertise, and reputation in the market.

Fish's global IP practice provides strategic counseling, litigation, and prosecution for clients ranging from start-ups to multinational corporations to world-renowned academic and research institutions. Corporate Counsel recently ranked Fish as the #1 patent litigation firm in the U.S. for the 13th consecutive year. Fish was also ranked recently by Managing Intellectual Property as a top "Tier 1" law firm in every national category - Patent Prosecution, Patent Litigation, Bio/Life Sciences, Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) Litigation, and ITC - and named as the #1 law firm for petitioners at the PTAB in 2015.

Chambers is considered to be the most reputable legal directory in the world because inclusion is based solely on the findings of its research teams. The rankings data is culled from in-depth interviews with clients, law firms, and lawyers across the country, with greater weight given to the views of the clients. Ranking criteria include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client. Law firms and individual lawyers are ranked in bands from 1-6, with 1 being the best.
