Fish & Richardson Names Three New Principals in Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C., January 27, 2011 – Fish & Richardson has named Steven Bowers, James “Tripp” Fussell, and Rudhir Patel as principals in its IP Litigation Group in Washington, D.C., effective January 1, 2011.  Overall, 16 attorneys were elevated to principal across the firm’s 11 offices.

Steven Bowers will continue to focus his practice on patent litigation in the areas of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering.  Previously, he was an engineer and analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency.  Mr. Bowers received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School in 2003, his M.S. in aeronautics from the California Institute of Technology in 1993, and his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Cornell University in 1992.

James “Tripp” Fussell will continue to focus his practice on patent litigation in all areas.  He received his L.L.M. in intellectual property from George Washington University Law School in 2004, his J.D., with honors, from the University of Arkansas Law School in 2003, and his B.S., with honors, in civil engineering from the University of Arkansas in 1999.

Rudhir Patel will continue to focus his practice on patent litigation in the areas of consumer electronics, computer hardware, industrial machines, integrated circuits, and semiconductors.  He received his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2002 and his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan in 1999.
