Background

​Dr. Parsons is a Senior Patent Agent in the Twin Cities office of Fish & Richardson. Her clients include Universities and research institutes, start-up companies, as well as large companies that operate in the pharma and life sciences space, and her practice focuses on all aspects of patent prosecution, both US and abroad, as well as due diligence, patentability opinions and invalidity opinions.  Dr. Parsons’ practice includes technologies including, for example, stem cells and cell therapies; plant biotechnology and genomics; nucleic acid-based therapies such as vaccines and RNAi; next-generation sequencing techniques; human, plant and bacterial genes and polypeptides; tissue engineering and regeneration; biofuels and green/environmental technology; food biochemistry; biologics; nanotechnologies; and diagnostic assays. Dr. Parsons started her patent law career at McGregor & Adler in Houston, TX (1997-1999). Prior to patent law, Dr. Parsons held a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Institute for Biosciences and Technology on the Texas Medical Center in Houston, TX. Her research experience includes work as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Genetics and Cell Biology at Washington State University, where she was the recipient of a McKnight Fellowship, and undergraduate honors research in the Biology Department at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
