Background

Jason Bonilla is a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Systems leadership team, serving as the Litigation Paralegal Practice Thought Leader for the firm.  In his role, Mr. Bonilla leads the way in the evolution of paralegal services by developing best practices, improving current processes, and leading litigation teams in achieving success in all phases of complex legal projects.  Mr. Bonilla is directly involved with practice management initiatives targeted to more efficient delivery of legal services to the firm’s clients.  He has over 15 years of experience working on patent litigation matters, holds certification in legal project management, and carries a master-level skill set in eDiscovery and all aspects of trials, including participation in over 10 patent trials and arbitrations, as well as numerous Markman and case dispositive hearings.  Mr. Bonilla joined the firm in 2008 as the Manger of Litigation Practice Systems for the Houston office, managing litigation paralegals in that office until the role expanded to include litigation paralegals in Austin and Atlanta.  Mr. Bonilla has served in his current capacity as the firm’s Litigation Paralegal Practice Thought Leader since 2014.  Prior to joining Fish, Mr. Bonilla was the Paralegal Coordinator for Patent Litigation at another AM LAW 100 firm.  Mr. Bonilla worked as an environmental chemist and conducted graduate research involving catalysis in supercritical fluids prior to moving into the legal field.
