Patent Prosecution and Commercialization

When a promising technology comes along that has significant commercial potential, why treat it like just another new invention disclosure? You shouldn’t. Budget constraints, however, often make it difficult to invest the funds necessary to obtain comprehensive, high-quality patent protection in the U.S. and appropriate global markets.

The Bastille Program shifts the paradigm. We invest in your intellectual property by paying all necessary legal fees and expenses, commercialize the technology, and then share equally in the profit generated. We significantly enhance the value of your technology by obtaining the highest-quality patents possible in key global markets identified by our commercialization strategy. Your institution always retains ownership of the patents generated by the Program, and never bears any financial risk.

How It Works

Step 1: Submit Your Technology
Enter into a confidentiality and nondisclosure agreement with Bastille, and then submit any new or existing technology to the Bastille Program. We will assess its patentability and commercial potential.

Step 2: Formalize the Relationship
If the technology is accepted into the Program, we will formalize our relationship either (1) through an exclusive license with Bastille or (2) through separate agreements with both Fish and Bastille. In either case, Fish and Bastille cover all fees and expenses associated with patenting and commercializing your technology.

Step 3: Patent Your Technology
Fish drafts a patent application to meet your institution’s goals and Bastille’s commercial strategy. Fish prosecutes your patent. Where appropriate, we will invest in foreign patents in key global markets and/or additional U.S. patents to increase the value of the intellectual property rights.

Step 4: Generate Revenue
Bastille works with your institution to optimize the business strategy for your technology. Fish and Bastille collaborate throughout the entire process using our combined resources and insight to generate significant revenue streams for your institution.
