Where: Hotel Okura, Tokyo, Japan

The U.S. Federal Circuit and the Japan IP High Court are joining forces to put on this two day program. Speakers will include Judges from the Japan IP High Court and Judges Randall R. Rader, Arthur J. Gajarsa, Richard Linn, Timothy B. Dyk, Sharon Prost, and Kimberly A. Moore from the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. David J. Kappos, Director, United States Patent & Trademark Office and Yoshiyuki Iwai, Commissioner, Japan Patent Office will also be speaking. Topics will include En Banc Session of the Courts, Views from the Patent Offices, and a panel discussion on “What have the Federal Circuit and Intellectual Property High Court Contributed to Their Nations and What is in Store?” There will be breakout sessions on Exhaustion, Indirect Infringement, Damages & Injunctions, Obviousness, Doctrine of Equivalents, and Trade Secret Protection. Fish Principal Kathi Lutton will moderate “Doctrine of Equivalents.” Finally, the two days will include two mock appellate cases on Oral Arguments and Decisions and Discussion.
