The Boston Patent Law Association and the Federal Bar Association invite you to join us for an informative talk by Assistant United States Attorney Scott L. Garland, who is experienced in the federal prosecution of trade secret misappropriation.

The topics Mr. Garland will address include:

  1. the federal criminal laws that address trade secret misappropriation and the elements of a violation and penalties;
  2. how a complainant brings a possible violation to the attention of federal authorities and can work with them to decide if criminal prosecution is appropriate for them;
  3. the role of the complainant in the prosecution, including providing information and testimony;
  4. protection of trade secret information during the course of the prosecution and trial.
