Background

Ms. Garff joined the Silicon Valley office as an associate September 2014. Her practice focuses on helping clients resolve patent disputes. She has technical experience in several fields of technology, including hardware systems, software systems and architecture, flash memory, power supplies, and mechanics. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Garff worked at Raytheon Missile Systems in radar development and RF signal processing and with Parlant Technologies as a legal extern, advising the company on patent and trademark matters.

Ms. Garff specializes in assisting clients to resolve patent disputes in both district court litigation and post-grant validity challenges before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. She has drafted petitions for inter partes review, handled discovery requests and taken depositions, drafted claim construction and other briefs in district court litigation, participated in district court trials, prepared invalidity contentions, and done a variety of legal research and persuasive writing to advocate for clients.

Ms. Garff’s complex litigation experience includes both intellectual property and class action cases. Ms. Garff also serves as a pro bono attorney for the Clemency Project 2014.
