Overview

Dean Leitzen is responsible for the oversight and management of all new business- and lateral hire-related conflict of interest issues throughout the firm to ensure adherence to firm policies and procedures and all applicable professional rules.

As leader of the Conflicts department, Dean is responsible for creating the vision and strategy for the department and ensuring that all new business and lateral hires are on-boarded in a timely, efficient, and ethical manner. 

Dean joined the Fish & Richardson team in 2009. Prior to stepping into the director role, Dean served as the firm’s senior manager of new business & conflicts. Dean has more than 30 years’ experience working in the area of legal conflicts of interest and risk management, and he has held management-level positions at other large, international law firms since 1996. Dean has been learning German in his free time for the last few years (currently at B2 level), and he enjoys spending time outdoors exploring the natural beauty of the Bay Area, and the occasional glass of red wine with dinner.
