Background

Christopher Ma is an Associate in the Washington, D.C., office of Fish & Richardson. Mr. Ma’s practice emphasizes client counseling in the areas of managing U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, patent portfolio development, patent infringement and validity opinions, and patent due diligence. He has counseled a large variety of clients including universities, individual inventors, and startup companies to multi-national corporations. Mr. Ma also has patent litigation experience before the Federal District Courts and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Mr. Ma’s practice is focused on the technical areas of computer, electrical, and mechanical products. He has experience in patenting software inventions, telecommunication devices, speech recognition processes, search engines, e-commerce inventions, business process and financial modeling, medical devices, imaging devices, and power supplies.

Mr. Ma also devotes a portion of his professional time to pro bono matters, including working with patent matters referred through the Federal Circuit Bar Association (FCBA) and working with the Children’s Law Center to help foster parents secure guardianship over their at-risk foster children.
