Overview

Brian Pelatt, Ph.D., is a litigation technology analyst.

Brian provides vital technical and legal research and analysis, as well as administrative support, to Fish & Richardson attorneys. He assists throughout lawsuits and matters pending before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including post-grant proceedings and reexaminations.

Brian assists with the technical aspects of patent litigation, such as prior art searching, source code analysis, infringement and noninfringement theory development, invalidity and validity analysis, technology tutorials, expert witness selection, deposition support, and patent litigation pitch support. Brian also assists with large portfolio due diligence studies, whether for acquisitions, licensing, or pre-suit purposes.

Well-versed in a broad array of technologies, Brian’s experience includes semiconductors; materials science; electronic circuits; medical devices; wireless transmission technologies, such as 5G, LTE, and Wi-Fi; power conversion; and others.

Before joining the firm, Brian worked as an electrical engineering postdoctoral associate at the University of Minnesota, where he was a member of a cross-functional team working to develop a CIGS/CIAGS tandem solar cell.
