Boston, MA, December 19, 2011 – Fish & Richardson announced today that it has been named the top patent litigation firm in the country by Corporate Counsel magazine. This is the eighth straight year that Fish has received the number #1 ranking as the firm that handles the most patent litigation in the U.S.
Corporate Counsel found that Fish handles significantly more patent litigation than any other law firm. The annual survey, which was published in December 2011, ranks firms according to how many federal district court patent cases they handled in the previous year. In 2010, Fish handled a total of 128 cases, almost twice as many as the firm’s nearest competitor.
“We top this prestigious list of the most sought-after patent litigation firms every year because Fish consistently wins the most important, complex, bet-the-company IP litigation for its clients,” said Ann Cathcart Chaplin, Litigation Practice Group Leader at Fish & Richardson. “Our unparalleled IP litigation expertise also uniquely positions Fish to handle the new litigation-like post grant review proceedings which will be available in 2012 under the 2011 America Invents Act. We are already advising clients on post grant review strategies.”
