Due Diligence

A clear understanding of a company’s IP is critical to an accurate assessment of the value of that company. In mergers, acquisitions, public or private financing, licensing deals and other transactions, the value of a company’s IP is often glossed over by corporate lawyers. The diligence process should fully vet the strengths and weaknesses of a company’s portfolio, exposing the issues from offensive and defensive angles.  And, in some instances allow companies to increase their value /attractiveness by correcting identified issues.

Fish’s patent practice has served as IP counsel to numerous companies throughout the due diligence process, working alongside corporate counsel, and understands how to build and execute a strategy to maximize our client’s position. The combination of our deep technical expertise in a client’s technology, coupled with our decades of IP experience – both in IP prosecution and litigation - position us perfectly to help our clients maximize the value of their portfolios.
